On-Site High Resolution Digital X-Rays
Family FootCare PC offers on-site high resolution digital x-rays. This allows the doctors access to your films at any of our three locations. Digital x-rays allows us to magnify the image to pick up the early signs of arthritis, infection or a fracture.
Digital radiography uses special x-ray film to captures the images. The films are then run through a scanner that transfers the images onto the computer system. The advantage of digital x-ray is the reduction of over and under exposure, the ability to apply special image processing techniques that enhance overall display quality of the image, as well as time efficiency by bypassing costly and time consuming chemical processing. Also, less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.
Instead of X-ray film, digital radiography uses a digital image capture device. This gives advantages of immediate image preview and availability; elimination of costly film processing steps; a wider dynamic range, which makes it more forgiving for over- and under-exposure; as well as the ability to apply special image processing techniques that enhance overall display quality of the image.
